Teacher’s Activity

1. Lead in.

I show stethoscope, ferule and a bag on the desk.Then a student ticks the ferule and do the gestures, then lead he say: “I’m a teacher.”

I point he and ask: “How do we introduce his job? How about other jobs? Let’s learn the text.

2. Learn the new words.

I show the stethoscope and make gestures, say: “Guess, what do I do?” Ss will say the doctor in Chinese. Then teach the word, write it on the blackboard.

I take the bag and run to classroom, let Ss guess. Write the word: pupil. Teach them, drill them, read two by two. Game: Train, High and low voice.

3. Learn the sentence patterns and the text.

I show the picture of SB unit2 Activity 1.

Students listen and point the picture. I explain: When we introduce girls or women, we should use “She’s…”, when we introduce boys or men, we should use “He’s…”.

Write the sentence patterns on the blackboard: He’s a doctor. She’s a teacher. He’s a pupil. Read them, drill them. Ss read them and make gestures.

Listen the text again and repeat, read sentence by sentence. Do a role-play.
