教材分析：
本课来自新标准英语第八册第九模块的第一单元。主要以介绍澳大利亚为主线,以Why…？Because…为主要句型, 使学生能在真实语言环境中用英语进行交流，表达个人见解, 材料贴近生活，具有很强的实用性。
学生分析：
本课的教学对象是四年级学生,他们在上一模块已学过有关国家及其国家标志物，在课外知识上有一定积累，求知欲强,表现欲强,急于得到别人特别是老师的肯定，同时具有集体荣誉感。在英语听说读写的能力方面有了一定的基础。
设计理念：
新标准英语倡导任务型的教学模式，让学生在教师的指导下，通过感知，体验，参与和合作等方式，实现任务目标，感受成功。同时要求面向全体学生，突出学生主体，尊重个体差异，采用多种活动途径，整体设计目标。本课采用以实际生活为情境的原则及交际性原则，通过师生问答，生生交流，小组活动的方式，培养学生在生活中运用英语的能力。

B. 课文呈现，突破重点.
1.教师提问：Do you know does Amy like Australia and why does she like Australia?WillAmy go to Australia? Now let’s listen to the tape and point to words if you hear them.
教师把刚才学到的新词按课文出现的先后顺序摆到黑板上.顺序为
map,Australia,language,Australian,kangroo,koala
2.Play the tape. The students just listen and point to the words.教师与学生一起听和举起手指指词.
3. Listen and imitate the text.（Look at the screen）
4.Together read the text.
5 .. Ask and answer（幻灯出示习题）
（1） What are Amy and Lingling looking at?
（2）What language do they speak in Australia?
（3）Why does Amy like Australia?
（4）What animals does Amy like?
（5） Why does Amy like kangaroos and koalas?
