1. Help students know how to greet to others and how to answer: “How are you? I’m fine, thank you.”

2. Help students to know the manners in greeting;

3. Stimulate students’ interests in studying English.

1. Make sure that students can greet in this way: “How are you?” and answer.

 Step 1: Warming-up

1.All the Ss clap the hands and say the chant: clap clap clap your hands.

T greets to S in this way: Hello/Hi, I’m…

T asks: What’s your name?

Sing a song:

 Step 2: Presentation

T Greets to S: How are you? T helps S to answer: I’m fine, thank you.

T greets to several Ss, and helps them to answer. T corrects the pronunciation of the Ss’。

T continues making greetings, and let the volunteers to answer the greeting.

T writes down the sentence : I’m fine, thank you. And makes the good expression.

T greets to the whole class, and helps Ss to answer.

Pair work: T—S, S—S.

Show time.

T shows the big picture of part A.

Talk about the picture: What can you see in the picture? Which one is Helen? Which one is Su Hai? Who’s she? What are they doing? Can you read this sentence? Let’s listen to the tape recorder.

Ss open books, listen and read after the tape recorder for several times.

10. First read together, then read by themselves. At last read in pairs.

Step 3. Practice.

T puts the headwear on the head, and pretends to be Helen. Let Ss greet to T like greeting to Helen .

Let S wears the headwear, and help Ss make dialogue.

Ask all the Ss pretend to be Helen or Su Hai, and make dialogues with T.

T divides the class into two big groups, and one is Helen, the other is Su Hai. Then make dialogue.

Exchange the roles.

Ss make dialogues by themselves. They can do pair work and even leave their seats to ask their friends.

Show time.

Play a game: T broadcasts the song of part C: How are you? Ss pass a doll with the rhyme one by one. When the music stops, the one who hold the doll must stand up. Others ask him or her: How are you? The one answered: Fine, thank you.

 Step 4: Conclusion

Ss read part A for times.

 Step 5: Homework:

Review the dialogue of part A. The preparation for next lesson is listening to the tape recorder of part B for 5 times.

教学反思:

Ss are familiar with the greetings, and they learn the expression more fast than my expectation. They learn them well and can use them freely. They like playing the passing game to practice the dialogue. But someone doesn’t look at my mouth, while I teach the word: fine. When pronounce “fine” the mouth will change from small to big, then from big to small.
