Step 1: Warming up:

1. A song.

2. Act out the dialogue: In the shop.

3. Ask and answer

E.g. “What color is it?” to elicit “It’s…”

“Is it…? ”to elicit “Yes./No. ”

Step 2: Pre-task preparation

Tell students: In spring many people like to fly kites.

There are kites of many colors.

They all fly very high in the sky.

Sometimes up, sometimes down.

Step 3: While-task procedure

1. Open the book to page 16.

Teach the rhyme line by line

2. Play the cassette tape for students to listen to the rhyme.

3. Read the rhyme together with the students, adding some actions.

4. Invite groups of students to act out the rhyme to the class.

5. Encourage the whole class to act out the rhyme.
