教学目标:

1. Help students to review how to greet to others and answer: “How are you? I’m fine, thank you.”

2. Help students to know the different answers of the greeting;

3. Stimulate students’ interests in studying English.

1. Make sure that students can greet in this way: “How are you?” and answer in different ways: I’m fin/good/well, thank you.

2. Make sure that students go through the ritual of the class correctly.

教学过程:

 Step 1: Warming-up

1. Play a passing game that we have palyed in last class: T broadcasts the song of part C: How are you? Ss pass a doll with the rhyme one by one. When the music stops, the one who holds the doll must stand up. Others ask him or her: How are you? The one answered: Fine, thank you.

 Step 2: Presentation

Learn to sing the song:

Ss already familiar with the music while playing the passing give. Require Ss open their books and listen to the song again. And points to the words.

Ss try to sing along with the tape recorder.

Ss sing the song.

Ss sing the song in two groups. Boys—girls, Group1,2—Group3,4, S—S…

Teach Part B: Ss learn to answer the greeting in different ways.

Ask Ss sing with T, and T answers the greeting in this way: I’m good, thank you.

Ask some Ss what do you catch?

Maybe someone got it, if not T tells them: I’m good, thank you. Write down “good” on the blackboard. Make a equal mark between fine and good. And require Ss read after me. Sing the song again, change the sentence: I’m good, thank you.

Let Ss greet to T: How are you, and T answers: I’m well, thank you.

Use body language to help Ss understand the meaning of I’m good/well is the same to the sentence: I’m fine.

T greets to Ss, and help Ss to answer: I’m good/well, thank you.

T greets to Ss three times and Ss should answer the greetings in three different ways.

 Step 3. Practice

Read part B after the tape recorder.

And explain why there’re so many expression but with the same meaning.

 Step 4. Part D: Play a game.

T takes out a doll and says: Hello, I’m Bobo. How are you? Ss answer the greeting.

S takes the doll and greets the others.

Ss take out their dolls and greet to each other. They can leave their chairs and greet to others.

 Step 5: Conclusion

Ss sing the song together.

 Step 6: Homework:

Review Part B. Listen and read after the tape recorder for 5 to 10 times.

Sing the song: How are you? With the words changed: I’m well/good, thank you.

In this class, we have learnt three different expressions of the question: How are you? And teacher compares the Chinese culture and English culture, Ss show their great interests to learn the different expression. Most Ss would like to say: I’m fine, thank you. With teacher’s encouragement, they would like to say in different ways.
