I. Teaching material analysis

1. Status and Functions

This section is the preliminary stage of the whole unit, it concerns about cultivating Ss’self-reliance and English expressive competence. Students will learn to describe and talk about what chores they can do at home. Actually, some pupils are not familiar with doing housework. So they will benefit a lot from learning this section. Meanwhile, it lays solid foundation for Ss’ further over-all development.

2. Teaching Key Points & Difficult Point

Key points:

1). Basic language points. (phrases & sentence structures)

2). Describe and ask information about personal abilities.

Difficult point:

Talking about various abilities (what they can do at home, at school, etc). Extensive & comprehensive appliance of target language

3. Teaching Goals

1). Language goals:

Key vocabulary: (such as cook the meals, sweep the floor, etc.)

Target language: (What can you do? I can…… I’m helpful.)

2). Ability goals:

To coach Ss’ four basic skills

To develop Ss’communicative competence.
