教材内容分析:本课内容是小学四年级下册Unit 3 .Lesson 18 Are you short or tall?通过本课的学习,要求学生能掌握句型How tall are you ?和Are you tall or short ?”的提问和回答。
教学目标
1、知识目标:掌握单词metre,了解形容词的比较级,正确问答句子“How tall are you ?和Are you tall or short ?”
2、 能力目标:能准确测量身高,能在实际生活中熟练运用句子进行问答,能准确表述自己及他人的身高。
3、 情感、态度与价值观目标:通过小组合作实际测量,增强学生的合作意识,培养学生在实际生活中运用英语的能力。

Class Opening and Review

c. Review the words:tall, short , metres, point second ,first ,feel by showing the word-cards.

Step1: Learn sentences :How tall are you ?和Are you tall or short
a. Lead-in
T(Point a student ):What`s your name ? How old are you ?
S1: My name is _______. I'm ____years old .
T :(ask go on ) Are you tall or short ?
S1 :I'm tall .(老师板书此句型学习,可以让学生把How old are you ?中的old 用tall替换 )
T: How tall are you ?
S1: I don't know .
T:The teacher take out a ruler. Oh. You're 1.3 metres tall. (Write the sentences on the blackboard.) “Point”, say it, please.

Step 2: Learn “taller” and “shorter”
a. 老师请一位高个子的同学到前面来,教师问:What’s his name? How tall is he? (经过回答和量出他的身高)同样再请一位低一点同学上前,老师问:What’s his name? How tall is he? 通过这两个同学身高的比较知道:ZhangPen is taller. MaMing is shorter.进一步学习taller than , shorter than 。为了便于理解,可以再选一组同学进行比较练习。
b。 同桌之间进行练习。
