内容分析:

This is the first class of Module 5 Unit 2 in book 9 of NSE. This unit requests the students to learn how to describe the states of certain things using only one sentence. The target languages of this class are: ‘skirt’ ‘wet’ ‘shoes’。 ‘Amy’s blue dress is wet.’

教学目标:

1、Cognitive target:

Students can listen and say the sentence ‘__’s __ __ is __’; and they will be able to write a sentence accordingly.

2、Emotion target:

Encourage students to use English and it’s easy for them to do so.

3、Ability target:

Train the students’ language ability, to be able to describe things.

教学重点:

Students can understand and say ‘Go straight on’ ‘Turn left’ ‘Turn right’, and do the actions accordingly.

教学难点:

Use simple adjectives to describe things.

教学过程:

I. Warming up:

1、Greetings.

T (short for teacher): Good morning boys and girls Ss (short for students): Good morning!

2、Word power

T shows a picture of Amy Sam and Lingling, ask students to describe their clothing, as a review of colors and clothes. Teacher says the name of a kid, students shout out what they are wearing, and then add in the color of the clothes. After that, do the other way round, teacher describe one certain clothes, and students say who that clothes belong to.

II. Lead in:

1、Teacher shows the picture of the text, asking students what is wrong with the kids in the picture, what they can use to describe the states of their clothing.

Ss: wet, dirty, ugly… (In Chinese may be.)

T: That’s right! Do you know how to say that in one sentence? Let’s see.

2、PPSP shows the text and have students listen to it.

3、Reinforce ‘dress’ ‘skirt’ ‘wet’ and ‘dirty’。

Have students repeat what they have heard and try to say some of the sentences.

III. New sentences study:

1、Show a picture of Amy.

T: What is Amy wearing?

S: dress/blue dress. PPSP show the phrase ‘blue dress’

T: Whose blue dress?

S: Amy’s. PPSP show the phrase ‘Amy’s’

T: What’s wrong with Amy’s blue dress?

S: It’s wet. PPSP show the word ‘wet’ and ‘is’

Have students to read out the sentence now is on the slideshow, encourage them to do so in groups or individually.

- Drill with pictures.

2、Learn to put more words in that sentence.

PPSP shows the picture of Lingling.

T: What’s wrong with Lingling’s clothes now?

Ss: It’s dirty!

T: That’s correct! (Show the straight sigh)。

Now can you say the whole sentence?

S: Lingling’s yellow skirt is dirty.

T: That yellow skirt is not just any skirt, that happens to be Lingling’s favorite. PPSP shows the word ‘favorite’

T: Now who can put that word in the sentence?

Elicit the sentence ‘Lingling’s favorite yellow skirt is dirty’ from students.

- Class, group and individual drill.

3、Take the challenge one more time.

PPSP shows the picture of Sam.

Discuss in groups, and then compare notes.

Remind students to pay attention to plural forms.

Final result: Sam’s shoes are wet and dirty.

IV. Text study:

Listen and read the text.

Teacher guides the students to read the text by themselves.

V. Group work:

Describe the picture on the PPSP using as many adjectives as possible, and then present the sentence to the class.

VI. Homework:

1、Read the text 3 times.

2、Find a picture and use the words you have learnt to describe it.
