Teaching aims:

知识目标:Using imperatives to give simple instructions. e.g. Look at your hands.

能力目标:运用新学的句型及相关句子进行听 做反应。

Pre-task preparation

1. Bring some food and a basin of water into the classroom.

2. Revise the body parts vocabulary students have learnt, using picture and word cards or saying and pointing.

3. Say ‘Look at your hands’. Explain the meaning of the instruction by miming. Ask students to copy you.

4. Repeat step 2 with the other two commands ‘Wash your hands’ and ‘Fat a cake’.

5. Say Before we eat, we must wash our hands. Let’s do it together and say ‘Wash your hands’.

While-task procedure

1. Have the class listen and act according to your commands.

2. Say the commands in random order and ask individuals to act accordingly.

3. Open the Student’s Book to page 27. Play the cassette tape for ‘Look at your hands’. Ask some students to act it and the rest of the class to judge right or wrong.

4. Repeat the process with ‘Wash your hands’ and ‘Eat a cake’.

5. Have students stand in a circle. Play the game ‘Simon says’.

Consolidation

1. Divide the class into groups of three. Practise giving and doing the commands, substituting with other body parts, e.g. ‘Look at your arms’, ‘Wash your arms’, etc.

2. Select groups to say and act the modified commands to the class.

3. Daily life activities.
