Ladies and gentlemen, It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. The content of my is lesson is Book5 Unit4 Part B read and write. This lesson includes 2 parts: Read and write, Pair work. In section 1, enable Ss to understand the dialogue and answer the questions; enable Ss to learn the four skill sentences. In section 2, enable Ss to use the sentences: Can you …? Yes, I can./No, I can’t. Make the Ss use the sentences in the real situations. Ss have learned the phrases: cook the meals, set the table, sweep the floor, make the bed, clean the bedroom, wash the clothes, water the flowers, empty the trash, do the dishes and they also have learned the sentences: What can you do? Are you helpful at home? Can you… ? They have strong base the new lesson.

V. Teaching methods

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils' basic abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I'll mainly use "Task-based" teaching method. I will arrange five kinds of activities: chanting, listening, words game, pair work and having a competition. And in this lesson a recorder, CIA, the word cards will be needed.

I'll finish this lesson in 3 steps.

Step1 warm up & preview

1. Greeting.

2. Let’s chant: Dog, dog, what can you do? I can run after you. (PEP6 Unit4 P46)

3. Go over the phrases:

cook the meals, set the table, sweep the floor, make the bed, clean the bedroom, wash the clothes, water the flowers, empty the trash, do the dishes, put away the clothes.

4. words spelling game:

have a competition in groups to spell the words and phrases: cook the meals, set the table, sweep the floor, make the bed, clean the bedroom, wash the clothes, water the flowers, empty the trash, do the dishes, put away the clothes

5. Let’s chant: What, what, what can you do? I can, I can cook the meals….

Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for

the Ss by singing and chanting and at the same time it provides situations

to review learned knowledge for the next step.

Step 2. presentation

1. Present “Can you make the bed? No, I can’t. Yes, I can.”

①From the picture of the boy’s bedroom.

T: Look at the bedroom. It’s really a mess. Can you help the little boy?

Ss:Yes.

T: Can you do the dishes?

Ss: No, I can’t. Yes, I can.

T: Can you sweep the floor?

Ss: No, I can’t. Yes, I can.

T: Can you wash the clothes?

Ss: No, I can’t. Yes, I can.

Practice the phrases “Can you ….? Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.”

②Little game: arrange the words to a sentence. Have a competition.

③ Let’s chant: Can you , can you make the bed?

Yes, yes, yes, I can.

No, no, no, I can’t.

Purpose: To present the words by reviewing the words and game is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. Proper competition can arouse the Ss' interest in English learning.

2. Present “play chess”

① From the guessing game.

T: Let’s guess. What can Miss Xu do?

Use the sentences: Can you ….?

Show a picture of What I can do?

T: and I can play chess, too.

Show the pictures of play chess.

Ss: I’m going to the bookstore.

② Practice the sentences “I can play chess.”

③ Show the picture.

T: I can play chess. And I can play chess on the computer.

Use the mouse (show to the Ss)

T: I can use a computer.

Practise: use a computer/ Can you use a computer? Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.

Purpose: Use CAI to show the pictures for Ss. CAI can provide a real situation for students to understand well. It will make the students be interested in English.

④ Let’s play

Show the phrase to the Ss, guess what can he/she do?

⑤ Show the picture of Robot

T: What can Robot do? Let’s guess.

Robot answer the questions: Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.

Purpose: It is very important to train the students’ ability of listening in English learning. So, let the students to listen and finish the sentences can improve their ability of listening, also it can review the new phrases what they have learned.

⑥ Listen and fill in the blanks

T: What can Robot do? Let’s listen and then fill in the blanks.

And to show the four skill sentences.

⑦ Read the sentences and tick and cross.

⑧ Fill in the blanks.

⑨ Act it in boys and girls.

Step 3. consolidation

T: Robot isn’t very helpful. What about Xiao Wanzi and Dolamon. Are they helpful? Let’s see.

Show the pictures of them, and show what they can do, what they can’t do.

② Xiao Wanzi

Ss sing the song .

Purpose: Different interesting activities can make a good English learning surrounding for the Ss , at the same time it provides situations to go over the new words , phrase and sentences what they have learned this class. Task-based teaching methods is used here to develop Ss' ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.

5. Homework

1. Copy the sentences.

2. Ask your parents the housework what they can do and what they can’t do.

3. Say the chant and sing the song after class.

Purpose: Revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they as in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
