1. Help Ss to find out a person’s occupation by asking “wh-”questions

2. Help Ss to to find out the reason by asking “wh-”questions

3. Help Ss to to obtain “yes/no” responses by asking simple questions

4. Help Ss to use “like to” to express interests, feelings and opinions.

Listening: Recognize differences in the use of intonation.

Speaking: Open an interaction by eliciting a response by asking questions.

Maintain an interaction by replying/asking others’ opinions.

Reading: Using visual clues, context to work out the meaning of a new word. Writing: Gather and share information by using tables.

I. Pre-task preparation:

1.Ss sing songs.

2.Help Ss to play a guessing game “What job do I do?” to review job names---(Distribute everyone an information page on which there are some job names.)

3.Ss do pair work to review the dialogues at P17:

--What job do you do?

--I’m a…。

--Do you like your job?

---Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.

--Why?

--I like to…。/I want to…。 I like to be a…。

II. While-task procedure:

1.Elicit 3 new job names “ astronaut, pilot, farmer” using the following sentences:

--What job does he/she do?

-- He’s/She’s a …。

-- What does he/she usually do?

-- He/She…

2.Ask Ss to do pair work to consolidate above.

3.Elicit “Does he/she like his/her job? Why?”

4.Help Ss to play a game “How much do you know about your friend?” (Ask some pairs to talk about their good friends’ jobs, the others write

down what they hear and then give a report.)

5.Help Ss complete Listening comprehension:

First listen and fill in the table, then give a report according to the table..

III. Post-task activity:

Help Ss to complete a survey: Find out what their partners’ parents do.(Distribute a page to each student. Ask them to find out what their partners’ parents do. Students can use the information page. Then invite some students to report back.)
