I. Today I'm going to talk about PartA of Unit2, PEP Primary English, Book 7. This lesson includes two parts: Let's learn and Pair work. In section 1, the words and phrases: take a trip, go to the cinema, read a magazine, this morning, this afternoon, this evening, tonight, tomorrow, next week will be learned. And the sentences :"What are you going to do this evening? I’m going to the cinema.” will be talked about. In section 2, the students work in pairs, talk about “What are you going to do this evening/ tonight/…”

II. Teaching aims

1. Aims on the knowledge:

①Enable the Ss to listen, speak, read and write the phrases: this morning, this afternoon, this evening, next week. And enable Ss to master the words and phrases: take a trip, go to the cinema, read a magazine, tonight, tomorrow.

②Enable the Ss to understand and speak: "What are you going to do this evening? I’m going to then cinema." Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations.

③ Enable the Ss to talk about the activities what they will do in the future in pairs.

2. Aims on the abilities

① To develop Ss' abilities of listening , speaking, reading and writing..

② To train the Ss' ability of working in groups.

③ To foster Ss' abilities of communication and their innovation.

3. Aims on the emotion

① To foster Ss' consciousness of good co-operation and proper competition.

② To lead Ss to be in the good habit of making time in the future..

III. Key-points of this lesson

(1) To help Ss learn the words and phrases: this morning, this afternoon, this evening, next week. And enable Ss to master the words and phrases: take a trip, go to the cinema, read a magazine, tonight, tomorrow. And the sentences: "What are you going to do this evening? I’m going to then cinema."

(2) To enable Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully.

(3) To develop Ss' interest in English.

Ⅳ.Difficult points

①To help the Ss ask and answer the question "What are you going to do this evening? I’m going to then cinema." and Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations.

② To help the Ss understand the future tense.

V. Teaching methods

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils' basic abilities of listening ,speaking, reading and writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I'll mainly use "Task-based" teaching method. I will arrange five kinds of activities: chanting, listening, words game, pair work and having a competition. And in this lesson a recorder, CIA, a magazine, the word cards , some chocolates will be needed.

I'll finish this lesson in 3 steps.

Step1 warm up & preview

1. Greeting.

2. Have a competition:

(Show the pictures) : Look, who are they? They are Mickey and Donald. Group1 and 2 , you’re Mickey. Group3 and 4, you’re Donald, OK? Today, Mickey and Donald bring a present for you, guess, what’s this? (put the present in my hand) Oh, this is a sweet. Mickey likes sweets, Donald likes sweets, who can get it? Let’s have a match, OK?

3. Let’s chant: What do you do on the weekend? …… (PEP6 Unit1)

4. Go over the phrases: climb mountains, watch TV, ….

Free talk: What do you do on the weekend? I usually….

Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing and chanting and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.

Step 2. presentation

1. Present “read a magazine”

Free talk, let the Ss to ask me: What do you do on the weekend?

T: I often read books.

Show the magazine

T: Is this a book?

Ss: Yes.

T: And this is a magazine. I often read a magazine.

Practice “read a magazine” Pay attention to the pronunciation to [i:] [?]

Purpose: To present the words by reviewing the words and game is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings. Proper competition can arouse the Ss' interest in English learning.

2. Present “go to the cinema” “take a trip”

T: Chen Jie usually read a magazine on the weekend.

But this weekend, what is she going to do ? Let’s see.

Hello! I’m Chen Jie.

It’s a fine day today.

I’m going to take a trip

this morning.

I’m going to the cinema

this afternoon.

I’m going to watch TV this evening.

From that to learn:go to the cinema /take a trip (Next year, there will be an Olympic Game in Beijing, so I’m going to take a trip to Beijing next year.)

3. listen and finish the sentences

listen again and finish:

Chen Jie is going to take a trip ___________.

She is going to the cinema _____________.

She is going to watch TV ___________.

Purpose: It is very important to train the students’ ability of listening in English learning. So, let the students to listen and finish the sentences can improve their ability of listening, also it can review the new phrases what they have learned.

4. Present “this morning/afternoon/evening, next week” “tomorrow/tonight”

a. show the pictures to go over the words: morning, afternoon, evening, night

b. T: That make a day. What day is it today?

c. Today+ morning= this morning

Today+ afternoon=this afternoon

Today+ evening = this evening

Today+ night = tonight

d. Practice “this morning/afternoon/evening/tonight”

Purpose: Use CAI to show the pictures for Ss. CAI can provide a real situation for students to understand well. It will make the students be interested in English.

e. today is Tuesday, tomorrow is Wednesday.

Play a game: Today is …. Tomorrow is ….

f. Monday to Sunday , they make a week,

circle the next week

this is the next week.

From the “bomb”, the last “bomb” use the phrase “this evening”

Purpose: Different interesting activities can make a good English learning surrounding for the Ss , at the same time it provides situations to go over the new words , phrase and sentences what they have learned this class.

Step 3. consolidation

1. Let’s try “Yes or NO”

What is Sarah going to do this evening?

No, she’s going to the cinema this evening.

Show the sentences , Yes or No, then make it in a right way.

Purpose: The activity designed here is to make the student understand the grammar of the future tense well, and can use it in the real situations.

2. Game: Choose 1~6 & A ~ F

Ask and answer (have a match)

3. Who can get the chocolate? Mickey or Donald? …

They can eat the chocolate together, they are good friends. They are going to play together. Look.

4. Pair work

Finish the table, and talk in pairs.

Purpose: Task-based teaching methods is used here to develop Ss' ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.

4. Plan your weekend:

Purpose: Revision is so important that Ss should speak English as much as they as in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
