一、 Greetings.

About the summer holiday/weather.etc.

Now class, Did you have a good holiday?

What did you do in your holiday?

Where did you go ? What did you see ? What did you eat?

Who can tell me more about your holiday?

二、Presentation

1. Tell the students about the Great Wall.

Where is the Great Wall ? Who has ever been to the Great Wall? How do you like the Great Wall ? What does the Great wall look like ?

2. The teacher has a summery.

The Great Wall runs across North China like a huge dragon,

It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through vallegs till at last it reaches the sea. It’s the longest wall on the earth, also one of the wonders in the world.

3. Write 1 on the blackboard, let the students read. Then write 0 behind 1（10）， let the students read. Then write 0 behind 10（100）， let the students read. Then write 0 behind 100（1000）， 引出新单词：thousand. Teach the students to read.

4. Write 000 behind 1000 （1,000,000）。

New words：million. Teach the students to read. （拿出卡片2,400），Who can say? One student answers. （拿出卡片12,000,000），Who can say? One student answers.

5. （PPT）Quick answer.: thousand, million.

6. A. T: （PPT）Do you know what place?

B. Game : Pat the desk

Teacher call out the number, one “0” in the number, then Ss pat the desk one time, two “00”， then two times. Each group invite a student, compare who is the fastest one to take out the action.

三、Practice

1. T:（PPT） introduce the Great Wall. When did it build?

How long is the Great Wall?

Ss: It's 6,700 kilometres. （Teach the new word）

T: How old is it?（新句型）

Ss: It's more than two thousand years old.

2. （出示课件the Great Wall, Yellow River, Changjiang River） The students practice in pairs.
