⑴教学目标

① 知识目标:较好地掌握过去进行时态。

What were you doing? I was digging a hole.

②能力目标:初步掌握一般现在进行时与过去进行时的转换。

③情感目标:用过去进行时态表达简单的个人意愿。

⑵教学重难点:掌握过去进行时态时间含义。

⑶教学过程:

The First Period

Step One Review.

1. Place Picture Cards 9—16( from SB 4 Unit 2) on the board. For example: exercising, working, shouting, thinking etc. Ask Ss What are they doing? [Ss: He’s exercising. She’s shouting.]

2. Take picture cards off the board, ask one student to come up and pick one of the cards. Tell him/ her to act out what is on the card. T: What’s he/ she doing? [Ss: (S1’s name) is thinking.]

Step Two. Presentation

Have Ss look at the pictures on the page. T Point to the first and second picture.) Who’s this ? [ Ss: It’s Gogo, Jenny, Ben and Lisa.] T: ( Point to the second picture.) What are they doing? [Ss: They are talking.] T: Look at the third picture . Ben is digging. Let’s dig. Model digging. T: I’m digging. Repeat. [Ss: I’m digging.] T: OK,everyone. Sit down.

Step Three. Listen and read.

T: Let’s listen to the tape.

1. Have Ss look at the page and point to each picture for Ss to follow. T: What’s Jenny doing? [ Ss: She’s talking.] T: What is Ben doing? [ Ss: He’s digging.] T: What is Lisa doing?[Ss: She’s laughing.] T: Let’s listen to the tape and read the story.
