Steps:

Pre-task preparation:

l Review: tall, short, thin, fat, big, small.

l Introduce: Who is he/she? ; He’s/She’s (name) ; friend.

l Go around the class asking Who’s he/she? to elicit: He’s/She’s __ .

l Play the cassette. Listen and repeat.

l Practice Who’s he/she?

While-task procedure:

1. Think of a friend in class. Come out in front of the classroom and describe his or her friend. The other student make guesses until the identity of the friend is guessed correctly.

2. Practice in pairs.

3. Write about a friend using the model provided.

Post-task activities:

1. Review the adjectives using flashcards

2. Trace the words and tick the correct boxes.

Listening task:

Photocopiable 14

Learn the letters:

1. Play the cassette. Listen and point in their books.

2. Listen, point and repeat the sound.

3. Encourage students to add the new words to their alphabetically organized Word Book.

4. Workbook pages 39, 40 and 41.

Consolidation:

At this stage Grammar Practice Book 3A page 13 could be used to practise and consolidate the oral and written language in this section further.
