Talking Teacher is a set of four games for very young children that teaches letters, numbers and the use of the computer. The environment is designed so that a child can select a game, play the game, and exit back to the main window, all without help from an adult. Talking Teacher is designed to hold the attention of even the youngest users while teaching valuable lessons and the skills necessary to use computers.
The main screen gives a graphical representation of each game. A single mouse click launches the chosen game. Each of the games is designed using sampled voices and colorful graphics. At the very youngest ages (even as young as 18 months), children will be totally thrilled that they are able to "master" the computer. After a while, the child will gain confidence in mastering the game itself. All of the games discourage "key pounding" by locking out the keyboard and mouse at certain times and responding more favorably to correct and/or valid inputs.
