Storybook Weaver—设计像童话故事那样圆满幸福的图画书软件。该软件本身带的背景、人物大都与童话故事里的有关，因为是演示版，声音和音乐是不能用的。该软件自身带有一个范例，可以任意修改，可以很好的发挥孩子的想象能力，而且支持中文。点击画面上的元素就可以对其进行编辑。工具栏从上到下依次是：选择背景、人物元素、颜色、声音、音乐、字体、更改物体方向、变大、变小、变换方向、编辑人物、退出等。下面可以前进、后退页数，在菜单也有插入空白页等，操作不是太难。软件在运行时提示需要设置成256色，不用管它，点击确定就是了。以下为简要英文说明：
Download a canvas of possibilites. 'Storybook Weaver Deluxe' is a great learning tool for an expressive kid. It encourages kids to write by offering them endless story ideas through background pictures, objects, and other options. Kids start with a title page where they can plant a small seed of an idea, and choose a border (like knights and dragons) to surround it and set the stage. Their expression begins to bud on page 2, when offered backgrounds and patterns that make it possible to transform the page from stark white to fantastical to alien. The backgrounds work together, one group for the sky and one for the ground, so it is possible to create a very unique setting.
Then the storyteller adds characters and objects to the story. With the icons along the side of the screen, objects can be identified, painted, flipped, or shrunk. Trees, kids, sea monsters, and fish become illustrations as a thought progresses through realms of fantasy and becomes an adventure!
There are many options that are not included in the demo. The full version includes sound effects, music, spell check, and a thesaurus. The print and save options are unavailable in the demo, and very unfortunately, the text-to-speech option is also unplugged.
The real value here however is not in the options. It is the fact that this is a very useful tool for encouraging kids to take the initiative and be creative. A blank page is very intimidating, and this program has many helpful suggestions and pictures. Rather than handing a kid pre-made entertainment, this 'Storybook Weaver Deluxe' teaches them to create their own!
