(一) warm-up

1. Have the work dictation of Unit 1

2. Rhyme time

Autumn is yellow. Winter is white.

(二) Present the dialogue

1. Have the pupils look at the pictures at Page8-9

2. Have the pupils look for Ben in the picture. Use the picture to guide pupils to understand that the boy is from Australia.

3. Use the rest of the pictures to guide pupils to understand that Ben, Xiaoling and Jiamin are having a cold weather.

4. Set a purpose for reading the passage. Rag is from Australia. Are they also having winter in Australia? Let’s read the passage to find out.

5. Have the pupils to read the passage silently all the way through.
