ⅰ. Listen to the story with two questions:

1) How many people are there in this story?

2) What are they?

c  Answer the questions, then read out the answers.

ⅱ.  Teacher asks the ss. to read out the story by themselves and underline the words they don’t know.

Teacher explain the new words , make ss. make up the sentences with these words.

4)   What happened next morning?

5)   What did the fair say to Jack?

7)   Was the monster after him?

9)   Did the monster fall down?

Let ss. answer these questions and the teacher asks them :Where did they find the answers?How do you find the answers?
