教学程序:

一、warmer

Write the following words on the board.

Jump  swim  dance  sing

Tell the students that you are going to mime an action and they have to guess which action it is.

二、Example

T (mimes „jump‟)

Ss: Jump.

Repeat these with the other words on the board.

Then, conduct the following role-play with the students.

Example

T (write the following on the board: „jump/ I can jump.‟)

Ss: (stand up and jump on the spot) I can jump.

Repeat this with other words on the board.

Then, introduce the question form of „ can „by asking volunteers some questions.

Example

T: (points to the word „jump‟) can you jump?

S: (jump up and down) I can jump.

Vary the activity above by inviting pairs of students to conduct similar

role-plays.

Part One: Listen, point and find ‟can‟

Ask the students to close their books.

Write the following words on the board.

England  China  America

Tell the students that you are going to play the recording and they have to tell you the names of the countries mentioned in the recording.

Next, ask the students to read aloud the dialogue in the Student‟s Book. Then, tell them to underline all sentences and questions beginning with „can‟。

Now, tell the students that you are going to read ort extracts from the story and they have to tell you who said it.

Next, tell the students that you will read a question from the story. They have to find the correct answer in the story and say it aloud.
