教学目标:

1、知识目标:能熟练掌握"How tall are you? I'm__metres tall."以及比较级taller,shorter,补充内容最高级tallest,shortest.

2、技能目标:能够对有关身高的问题进行问答和能与他人合作完成任务,提高合作能力和分析能力。

3、情感目标:将本课与学生生活紧密联系,增强学生对英语的兴趣。并教育学生要有健康的体魄,养成良好的生活习惯。

重点难点:

能灵活运用"How tall are you?"并能准确用I'm__metres tall.回答, 区分运用tall and taller,short and shorter. 会用I`m taller than___ ,____is the tallest 造句。

2: Free Talk

出示课件:(姚明)

T:What is his name? Do you know? Can you tell me something about him? In Chinese is OK.

(教师用双语予以补充,介绍姚明为国家争夺了很多荣誉,渗透德育,培养孩子们从小培养树立为国为班争光的意识,增强集体荣誉感。) And then ask o you have any another questions?

S:How old is he?/When is his birthday?/Is he very very tall?......

T:Yes,he is very tall.How tall is he?

【设计意图】创设情境,激发学生好奇心,积极性并为以下教学作铺垫。

Step2: Presentation:

1. Teaching new words and phrases

(由How old is he?引出How tall is he?)Can you guess the meaning?

T:He is ___metres tall.(Practise the pronunction of "point"and "metre".)

T: Is he short or tall?

S:He is tall.

出示另一张图片(矮人)

T:Is he short or tall?

S:He is very short.

T:Can you guess how old he is?

S:Guess……

T:He is fifty -five years old. He has some illness, so he can not be as tall as us. Do you want to be as short as him?

S:No.

T:So you must eat enough food such as vegetables and fruit and so on,then you can have a healthy body.

【设计意图】教师不需要作解释,借助图片和语言学生就能够明白新单词的意思,并且渗透德育教育,丰富课堂内容。

2. Listen to the tape.

The first time, just listen and think about how tall Jenny is and how tall Jim is.

The second time, read after the tape.And then read in groups.

【设计意图】让学生带着问题去学习新课,不仅能调动学生学习兴趣,而且学生自己就能发现学习的重点和难点。

1. Work in groups

出示另一组对比图片(世界第一高人鲍喜顺和一个卡通小矮人)

在此过程中,通过对比这些图片介绍taller and tallest/shorter and shortest

指着班上一名同学问:Is he short or tall?How tall is he?S:I don't know.

And then ask the student: How tall are you?

学生拿出米尺自己测量,练习对话。

How old are you?I'm__years old.

【设计意图】通过对新句型的学习,让学生实际操作,测量身高不仅能激发学生的兴趣,更能让学生学以致用。句型操练变得生动有趣。

2. Play a game.

Roll the ball.(教师先问一个学生的身高,第一个学生回答后坐下,第二个学生要先介绍第一个学生的身高再介绍自己的身高,以此类推往下,记得最多的学生为优胜者)

【设计意图】利用小游戏让学生放松的同时又对本课知识点加以巩固,并能提高学生学习兴趣。

3. Make an investigation.

出示课件(打出表格)

1)In groups, they interview each other. Let one or two groups come front to perform.

2)Choose the tallest boy and the tallest girl in classs.

(Encourage the students eat more nutrious food to get a healthy body and a taller height.)

【设计意图】教师利用表格进一步让学生对句型进行操练,让学生将所学内容与生活相结合,从而培养学生实际运用能力。

2. Homework: 用本课的知识对家人的身高作一下调查。

【设计意图】教师和学生自我评价体现了以学生为主体的教学评价理念,让学生在评价中了解自己掌握了多少知识,并查漏补缺,建立自信,感受成功。

效果预测:

本节课内容多,任务量大,需在反复练习"How tall are you? I'm__metres tall."的基础上,能区分使用"tall and taller","short and shorter",我又在此基础上补充了最高级,我觉得书中提到了比较级就应附带提到最高级,使学生在头脑中产生一个联想的概念,同时也拓宽了他们的知识面。

在设计上,我充分考虑到了这一点,并采用了完全脱离课本的教学模式,由于学生接触英语的时间长了,对于书中的人物早已不能引起他们多大的兴趣,所以我选取了在生活中学生比较感兴趣的人物,如姚明,小矮人等,充分调动了学生的积极性,使学生主动投入到学习中去,使学生在良好的状态下学习了新句型,也激励学生们像姚明一样,长大后为国争光,渗透德育教育;接着又通过多种活动如同桌对话,亲自量身高,全班游戏"滚雪球",看谁记得多,小组采访,评出全班最高星等,使新句型在此过程中得到了巩固练习,也使学生在合作过程中养成团结协作的好习惯,培养了竞争意识。听录音是一节英语课必不可少的部分,第一遍听音,我事先把要回答的问题布置好,让学生带着任务去听,真正体现了"任务型的教学模式",保证了学生的每个活动都是带有任务性的,第二次听音让学生边听边读,然后让学生在小组内分角色朗读,达到了"听、说、读、写"能力的全面培养的目的。
